Awards and prizes

Our students are very successful academically and regularly receive awards for their academic achievements.  For example over the last two years our students have gained the following awards:

Sophie Walsh C.I.E Top Alevel student in Spain.

Pelayo Mendez C.I.E Second highest overall marks at IGCSE in Spain

 

Academic Year 2009

Talisa Bean              Highest Mark in Spain – A Level Biology

Jaya Nebhwani         Highest Mark in Spain – A Level Chemistry

Laura Vigues -          Highest Mark in Spain – AS Level Biology

                               Highest Mark in Spain – AS Level Chemistry

Carlotta Planas         Highest Mark in Spain – AS Level Travel and Tourism

 

We firmly believe that success should be recognized and celebrated.  Whilst it is important to celebrate academic excellence, we always ensure that we also recognize and reward equally a positive attitude to learning. 

 

Therefore we present House Certificates throughout the school year which reflect each student’s individual achievements.  In addition at the end of each term we award Subject Commendations to students to reflect their academic achievement, attitude to learning or contribution to the school community.  Then we have annual awards and celebration evenings so that the highest achievers in every year group can be recognized.

 

In September we have a Presentation Evening for students who have just received their (I)GCSE and AS Level results.  This evening is attended by parents, teachers and students and they receive their exam results and Special School Commendations.  In addition we award formal prizes for Academic Excellence and Attitude to Learning. 

 

In June we host the Prize Giving ceremony for the Year 7-10 students, parents and teachers, in which we award a student in each year group a prize for Academic Excellence and Positive Attitude to Learning.  This coincides with the Summer Show and enables us to recognize those who have worked to the very best of their ability throughout the year.

 

The Year 13 students celebrate their Graduation in June alongside parents, family and teachers.  This event enables us to reflect upon their time with us and the academic and extra curricular achievements they have made.  All Year 13 students are recognized at this ceremony as we celebrate their contribution to our community and their next move onto further education.
