Cognita

The British School of Barcelona is part of the family of Cognita Schools, a leading international independent schools group based in the United Kingdom.

Founded in 2004 by Sir Chris Woodhead –former HM Chief Inspector of Schools in England– Cognita has expanded rapidly since its creation and currently operates over fifty schools across the UK, Europe and South-East Asia.

Cognita employ some 3,500 teaching and support staff who look after 15,800 pupils.

Cognita schools offer an education of excellence to children from 3 to 18 years and from over 70 countries. Most Cognita schools follow the National Curriculum of England and Wales, including GCSE and A Level qualifications.

Cognita runs 35 schools in the UK and 4 in Spain. They also have a number of schools in Asia in countries such as Singapore, Vietnam and Thailand.
