AS/A Level English Literature Years 12 and 13

English Literature

In Years 12 and 13 students follow a two-year Literature course, sitting an AS level exam at the end of Year 12, which can be built up to a full ‘A’ level at the end of Year 13. Students are encouraged to hone analytical skills from IGCSE and to develop a sophisticated appreciation of Literature

 

In Year12 students study four literary works: Poetry, Prose and two Drama texts. In Year 13 students study two pre-20th Century and two 20th Century texts.

 

For non-native speakers, weekly Cambridge Advanced English (CAE) sessions are offered to prepare students for entry in December of Year 13.
