IGCSE ICT Years 10 and 11

ICT

The ICT department follows the Cambridge IGCSE ICT course which is run for both years at KS4. The course is compulsory and we also expect students to use ICT across the curriculum. The course is assessed by three exams, two computer-based practical papers amounting to 60% of the total IGCSE and one written theory-based. The syllabus aims to:

  • Encourage candidates to gather, store, process and present information through activities in a range of contexts
  • Encourage candidates to solve problems through the use of information systems and associated principles and techniques
  • Develop an awareness of ethical, social, economic and political consequences of the use of computers for individuals, organisations and society through the study of meaningful applications.
