Results
Advanced Level examinations (A-levels) are taken over the last two years of study in a secondary school and are the standard entry qualification for British, Spanish and other international universities.
They consist of two parts – the first is usually taken at the end of Year 12 and is called Advanced Subsidiary (AS) level. This is worth half a full A-level. AS qualifications are graded A to E.
Satisfactory achievement of the second year (A2) results in the award of an A-level qualification.
A-levels are graded from A* to E.
There is no set number of subjects that can be taken, but the average is four.
