Reception celebrates the “Castanyada” at Can Pou
Our children in Reception had an enjoyable time yesterday celebrating the “Castanyada” tradition at Can Pou, a rural classroom by Montseny Natural Park.
The children were taken in groups by the monitors to go for a walk through the woods, talking about the trees and nuts. Then they met the Castanyera and collected sweet chestnuts which they also roasted to take home.
The weather was beautiful, and the children danced and sang with the “castanyera” to traditional songs and other popular songs.
By the end of the trip, they were all very tired but so happy they had lived a new and stimulating experience in nature they could tell home about.
