With Carnival celebrations in full swing in the BSB, the Family Club team scheduled a “Facepainting Carnival” workshop on the 14th February. This is a successful Fun Saturday activity we hold every year as it is a fun and relaxing way to learn how to face paint for Carnival, also suitable for birthday parties, school festivals, parades, Halloween, and many other occassions.
Ms Berenguer, a qualified specialist in creative family workshops, led this session aiming “to make parents enjoy fantasy makeup and learn the basics to be able to do it at home”. So, she first introduced the different types of paint available today, and how to apply them according to face painting designs and children’s age. She also gave some useful advice to get the best out of the makeup products.
Then she walked parents through every step to start making up their children by themselves. By following some helpful tips and techniques, parents were able to create quick, simple yet impressive looking face painting creations: animals, superheroes (this year’s Primary carnival topic), princesses… The children got so excited that some of the parents ended up having their faces painted too!
The teacher highlighted that “all the attendees got really involved and made a number of meaningful questions which really enriched the session. They were especially interested in make-up products and accessories, and where to buy them.”
On the whole, it was a very dynamic and positive training class.
