At the BSB we do our best to encourage communication between parents and teachers, and to promote meaningful parental involvement in the educational life of their children in many different ways throughout the year.
We believe that Open Afternoons are a fantastic opportunity for families to see their children at work, support the development of the on-going relationship between home and school, ensuring we work together for the benefit of the children.
This Open Afternoon on Monday was primarily an opportunity for parents to visit the classrooms where their children are taught and to be shown, by the children themselves, the work that they have been doing.
Mrs Dean, Deputy Head of Early Years and Primary, was happy to say “The classes were full with parents learning alongside their children and seeing first hand some of the fantastic learning that goes on every day. There was a range of different activities from English to Art to Science and it was rewarding to see the smiles and enjoyment that was being had by the children and families, whilst learning together.”
We have many opportunities throughout the year and it´s lovely to see so many families making the most of these unique opportunities. We also encourage parents to keep track of the children’s progress through the school communications, informal chats at afternoon collection times and regular Parent/Teacher Meetings.
