“All My Sons” at the BSB

On Thursday 29th October the Institute of the Arts Barcelona (IAB) came to the BSB to do a workshop with all our Year 11 students and the English Literature students in Year 13.

IAB is a dynamic institute that offers international performing arts higher education in Sitges. Their acting group who are currently studying “All My Sons” did an amazing job by performing some scene studies for our students on the Emma Watson Theatre stage. Then they ran a workshop with the teacher and actors which involved discussion and a question-and-answer session.

It was a great opportunity for our students to learn more about improvisation, how to prepare a character in order to roleplay it truthfully, the importance of the setting of the story, among other key elements of the theatrical performance.

Our Year 11 students are currently studying “All My Sons” this term. Year 13 students are working on the “Death of a Salesman” text. Both famous plays were written by American playwright Arthur Miller in 1947 and 1949.
