Over 120 students from six Barcelona International Schools took part in the first ever BISA (Barcelona International Schools Association) Music Festival, organised by Mr Hebden (Head of Creative and Physical Education) at the BSB.
Students arrived at school on Saturday 28th November at 10 am to a singing welcome, before participating in two music workshops. Workshops on offer were: African drumming, Big Band, Guitar, String instruments, Pentatonic improvisation, Body Percussion, Singing and Samba.
Music teachers from the BSB and the other schools (American School of Barcelona, Colegio Alemán de Barcelona, Kensington, Oak House, SEK Catalunya) delivered the workshops and all teachers commented on the excellent musicality of the students.
In the afternoon there was a final showcase concert of pieces from the workshops, alongside musical performances arranged by the different schools to an audience in our Emma Watson Theatre.
“It was amazing to see the different schools and the different ages of students interacting and creating music together”, said Mr Hebden. “Students thoroughly enjoyed the day and I’m sure the parents enjoyed the performances!”
Thank you to all the staff who came into school on Saturday to help run the event and to the students and parents who took part.
