New families meet their Nursery classes
On 2nd May, the BSB Early Years team organized a “Nursery Play Date” for prospective children and parents for September 2016.
This is a regular activity in the Early Years agenda for our new children and families to learn more about us and ask any questions they have; also for children to come and play in their new school with new friends which will help them to settle into school when they start. It is also an opportunity to meet the staff, become familiar with the setting and our method of teaching and learning at the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Mrs Oxberry, Head of Early Years and Primary, and all Nursery staff developed a range of activities in the Nursery classes and outdoor area: Sand and water play, painting, home corner, games on the interactive white board, trains, construction, climbing and sliding, dinosaur small world play, among others.
“The children loved playing in the Nursery and many wanted to stay when it was time to go home!”, Ms Martin, Early Years Leader, said.
She added, “This was a great opportunity for families to come and get to know us better. It was lovely to see the children playing so happily in our Nursery and excited to be starting school in September. We would like to thank everyone who attended and look forward to seeing you again soon”.
