The activity was intended to raise book awareness in children and show them that writing, reading, and drawing can be real fun. The artist’s performance was full of energy, wit, and enthusiasm and promoted happy, imaginative reading with the use of illustration. During the session children were involved in book reading as a class using the projector and were then encouraged to use their inspiration to create an image of a character.
Both Ms Patterson in BSB Sitges and Mrs Oxberry in BSB Castelldefels agreed that it was a pleasure to have Korky Paul in the school. “Children enjoyed a magical afternoon of drawing and were carried away into a fantasy world by the illustrations. The worskshop was brilliantly structured and Korky was very supportive at all times.”
There was also an opportunity to purchase signed copies of his books during the school day.
