BSB Sitges Handball Teams Achieve Fair Play Trophy

On Sunday, 13th May, Year 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 pupils from BSB Sitges took part in a Handball Tournament in Sant Pere de Ribes. The school had a team entered in all three age categories (Pre-Benjamin, Benjamin and Alevin), with 22 pupils taking part in total.

It was a tough tournament for both the Pre-Benjamin and Alevin teams with them playing against teams that compete regularly in the Handball league. However, they competed well and showed an excellent attitude throughout the tournament. Both teams showed fantastic togetherness and team spirit, and the Year 6 team, at times, exhibited some great passages of attacking play.

The Benjamin side impressively won four out of their five fixtures and highlighted the need for us to form a BSB Handball team for this age category next year. It is clear that with more regular training and opportunities to play, they could really be a force to be reckoned with in Year 6.

Ainhoa and Katia, from Year 6 Warhol class both said after the event, “we thoroughly enjoyed the handball and cannot wait to do it again!”

As all the children continuously exemplified the BSB values, the three teams were rewarded for being excellent sports and obtained the Fair Play Trophy for the event. We are all extremely proud of their positive attitude, no matter the result, and the high-level of leadership shown. It was an amazing achievement for the children and we look forward to competing again in June!
