Launching our second edition of Cognita Study Abroad Programme

We are delighted to announce that we are running the Cognita Study Abroad Programme again this year for BSB students aged 11-14.

This programme, organised in partnership with Ardmore, (specialists in language travel courses for junior students and part of Cognita since 2018) presents an exciting opportunity for our students in Years 7-9 (from September 2022) to spend one term, one semester or a full academic year in another Cognita school in the UK.

This year we have incorporated a fifth school into the programme: Downsend School.

Our students’ feedback

Last year saw the lauch of the first edition of the Cognita Study Abroad Programme with several students from Cognita schools in Spain, including BSB Year 9 student Alex who spent the Autumn term in Akeley Wood School:

Alex, Year 9, BSB (Akeley Wood School): ‘I lived with a host family and then I started school for four months. I had loads of fun in Northampton with the family and at school, as I made loads of new friends. I think it was a great experience for me.’

Graciela, Year 10, ELIS Murcia (Akeley Wood School): ‘Ardmore provided a host family who I got to meet through a Zoom call. Living abroad was a bit hard for me at the beginning, since everything was new to me and I didn’t know anyone; but as the first few days went past, I became more open with the host family and my friends in school.’

Félix, Year 19, TEMS (Akeley Wood School): ‘It’s been a great experience and I’ve been supported by Ardmore on my trip.’
