The British School of Barcelona will be present at this year’s edition of Barcelona International Community Day (BICD), the annual gathering for the expat community in Barcelona, highlighting the richness that the international community brings to the city and its contribution to making Barcelona a vibrant, diverse and multicultural place worth living in. BICD 2022 will take place on Saturday, 22nd October at the Maritime Museum of Barcelona. Entry is free of charge and attendees can get their tickets by registering on their website.
Our Admissions Teams will have their own stand for BSB along with nearly 80 exhibitors. Attendees will find specialised resources and services to meet the needs of expats who have recently moved to Barcelona. It will also feature a programme of more than 60 activities throughout the day in a variety of formats: informative talks and workshops, networking activities, live music, and activities for children. Around 100 speakers and experts from all over the world will be participating.
The event has a fun and family-oriented side to it. Throughout the day, there will be a play centre with various activities for children; and in the Maritime Museum Garden there will be workshops and activities for the entire family: Catalan traditions, Sant Jordi storytelling and postcard-making, among others. So don’t hesitate to bring your family along!
What expat families can expect to learn of BSB at BICD
BSB is accredited as one of the best British schools in the world by the British Schools Overseas (BSO) inspection run by the English Department for Education (DfE) of the British Government. We are one of the only five schools in Spain that are currently recognised as Outstanding in every category by BSO and the only school in Catalonia to have gained this prestigious accreditation.
We offer a multicultural learning environment with students from over 65 different nationalities, ensuring that every new student can quickly adapt regardless of their educational stage.
We are formally accredited by both the British and the Spanish governments as an educational centre that offers the English National Curriculum and two Pre-University curriculum pathways: A Level and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP), along with validation of Spanish Bachillerato qualifications. Each year, our students go onto some of the most prestigious universities both in Spain and around the world.
Families will be invited to visit our four campus: BSB City in Barcelona, BSB Castelldefels, BSB Sitges and BSB Nexus, as well as a state-of-the-art BSB STEM Centre and a 9,000 m2 rugby/football BSB Stadium. We are currently building an extension to our BSB City campus in the city of Barcelona, which will open in September 2023 for students aged 7 to 18, thus expanding the educational offer of our existing BSB City Foundation campus for Early Years and Primary, which opened in September 2021.
