Cognita & The Global Fund for Children: a partnership for education
The British School of Barcelona and Cognita are proud to be a major partner of The Global Fund for Children (GFC), the worldwide non-profit organisation that works to transform the lives of children on the edges of society, helping them regain their rights and reach their potential, no matter what their circumstances.
GFC finds community-based organisations around the world that are changing children’s lives and helps them grow through a combination of funding, management support and training.
Cognita’s partnership for education brings The British School of Barcelona and our worldwide community of schools and offices together to raise much-needed funds for GFC through a variety of activities and events. We launched the partnership in October 2014.
Even though the worlds in which the BSB and GFC operate are very different, we all share the common aim of helping all children achieve beyond expectation. Our partnership allows our students and staff to gain insight into some of the individual stories and children being helped by GFC, incorporating this material into lessons and activities as they see fit.
The partnership builds upon the strong tradition of philanthropic work and global citizenship education in our schools, providing a common focus for our worldwide community. Together we will achieve more.
Our partnership aims to give our students an understanding of the day-to-day challenges that children supported by GFC are facing around the world and develop global citizens.
