The British School of Barcelona is proud to be partner of Save the Children. We have been supporting this organisation’s work for over 10 years now.
Save the Children is the world’s leading independent organisation for children. They work in around 120 countries to protect children by:
- Saving their lives
- Fighting for their rights: a standard of living, adequate health care, quality education and protection against any form of violence
- Helping them fulfill their potential
Save the Children works to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives. Across all of their work, they pursue several core values: accountability, ambition, collaboration, creativity and integrity.
The BSB Sponsored Walk/Run
Every year in mid-autumn, we hold our Sponsored Walk/Run in aid of Save the Children. The proceeds from this exciting family event are donated to the Save the Children Fund. We have organised 10 editions now!
All BSB children and their parents and friends are welcome to volunteer to take part. Participants are asked to run or walk around the canal (approximately 3 km) once or more depending on age and fitness. It is not a competitive race in any way.
Before the walk/run, the participants receive a Sponsor Card and should ask relatives or friends to sponsor them for each kilometre they complete.
After the sponsored walk/run, each participant has to calculate how much each sponsor should give them to donate to this cause and collect the money.
The school then collects the money from all the participants and sends it to Save the Children.
