Early Christmas at the BSB
Christmas arrived at The British School of Barcelona early this year! When Mr Perrin’s Art students set up the Christmas tree, and our dear Santa Claus warmly welcomed parents and students from the school hall, everyone at the BSB knew that something big was about to happen.
And indeed, it did!
Our students and their teachers had all been very busy these days in their classes making the final arrangements for their Christmas concerts: learning songs, creating choreography, designing costumes… And they did such a good job!
On Monday, Nursery delighted parents with an extraordinary performance of well-known Christmas carols accompanied by their teacher on the guitar. Then, the children in Reception, dressed in Santa Claus costumes, played jingle bells and tambourines to the beat. It was great fun to see them all singing and dancing on the stage.
On Tuesday the musicians in Key Stage 3 (Years 7, 8 and 9) made for a terrific musical experience at the Theatre. We enjoyed the energy of the percussion ensemble, the virtuosity of the solo drum and piano players, the close harmony of the duets, and the stunning performance of the school choir.
On Wednesday a lovely animal farm took the stage. Our Year 1 cast, comprised of pigs, cows, sheep, cocks, fairies and stars, represented a small play enlivened with Christmas songs. Then, on Thursday the vocal and dance compositions of Year 2 brought this cheerful Christmas week to an end.
The British School of Barcelona wishes you all Merry Christmas! And for such a special occasion we would like to share with you the wonderful performance of Carla, in Year 4, of “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer”. Carla is one of Pila’s students at the “Singing & Movement” after-school activity.
