With these words Mr Hebden invited parents to attend last Tuesday’s GCSE Music Recital Evening at the BSB. It was a memorable evening which featured a challenging and varied performance programme from our Year 10 and 11 GCSE Music students.
Assembled in the Secondary Music Room on the 10th of March, the students displayed some fantastic skills on different instruments (saxophone, violin, guitar and piano) as well as some solo singing and ensemble pieces. Their performances were riveting and gave evidence of the amount of hard work, daily practice and perseverance of the students throughout the course.
Jesus’ high mastery of the piano was thrilling, as so was the piano/violin ensemble of Ariadna and Flavia performing “People help the people”. Oscar’s Alto Saxophone ensemble also revealed a remarkable command of the instrument. When it comes to singing, the vocal technique of Georgina in her solo performance of “When I was your man” was superb. And Sam showed his best in his vocal solo of “Vultures”. All the students performed beautifully and the whole thoughtfully planned programme produced an exceptionally fine recital.
We would like to congratulate the students for their outstanding job, and praise their parents for their continued support and encouragement. Thanks also to Mr Hebden for guiding the students throughout this learning process and for organizing this unforgettable event.
