🌱 A few months ago, as part of our Play. Explore. Learn. Video series, we shared how we help our youngest learners develop the language skills they need to thrive.

🗣️ In Episode 2, Poppy Roche, Early Years lead in our BSB City campus, introduced Concept Cat — a structured vocabulary programme developed by speech and language specialists in the UK, designed to strengthen children’s oracy skills from an early age.

💬 By explicitly teaching important concepts such as before and after or same and different, children build the vocabulary they need to express ideas, reason and communicate with confidence.

🎨 Through storytelling, discussion and play, our Early Years pupils learn to use new words in meaningful ways — creating strong foundations for learning across maths, science, reading and beyond.

One month on from the inaugural Festival of Education Spain, we`re still reflecting on the inspiring conversations, fresh ideas and meaningful connections that filled our BSB Castelldefels campus.

💙 Together with EducationScape (@education_scape ), Wellington College Education and the Festival of Education team, we were proud to bring this celebrated event to Spain for the very first time.

🌍 More than a conference, it was a day of thought-provoking discussions, inspiring speakers, meaningful networking and a shared passion for the future of education.

💬 As we revisit the reflections shared by attendees, we`re reminded of the power of bringing educators together to exchange ideas, build connections and shape the future of learning.

🌊 Our BSB Summer School Programmes are bringing July to life with days full of laughter, creativity and unforgettable experiences. From arts and crafts to cooking, water games and outdoor activities, every day is packed with opportunities to learn, play and make new friends.

🏄 At BSB Sitges, students made the most of our stunning coastal location with a visit to the Sitges Surf Club, where they enjoyed paddleboarding and a range of exciting beach activities.

🌍 There`s still time to join the fun! Running until 31st July, our Summer Programmes are open to both BSB and non-BSB students aged 3 to 16 across our Sitges, Castelldefels and Barcelona locations.

✏️ Learning to write starts one letter at a time.

📝 In Reception, children practise letter formation, pencil control and the first stages of phonics as part of their daily learning.

💙 In Early Years at BSB, these short sessions take place regularly, giving children the opportunity to revisit and practise new skills. Over time, these small steps help build the foundations for reading, writing and communication.
