We appreciate how fortunate we are at The British School of Barcelona. Therefore, we have developed relationships with preferred local, national and international charities and foundations, to develop our pupils’ awareness and responsibilities as thoughtful, global citizens. Throughout the year children are encouraged to create fundraising and supportive events for those less fortunate than ourselves.
Our continued work with UNICEF, Save the Children, and other organisations brings the community of students, parents and staff together to raise much-needed funds for education, health care, sanitation, nutrition, emergency relief and more.
For the last 10 years we have held our Sponsored Walk/Run in aid of Save the Children in November. The proceeds from this lovely family event are donated directly to the Save the Children Fund.
The proceeds of the BSB annual fundraising Summer Fair in May, which is organised by the Primary Fundraising Society, are donated to a different local NGO every year, decided by the children and therefore creating true empathy and understanding of how beneficial the fundraising event is to the lives of local children and their families.
Our school fundraising teams regularly support local causes and NGOs in order to raise awareness about the importance of helping others in a variety of non-monetary ways, such as visiting children’s hospitals and care homes for the elderly, or through blood donation sessions.
