BSB Sitges Summer School
The BSB Sitges Summer School runs for four weeks: From 2nd to 27th July 2018.
The BSB Sitges Summer School has been designed for children from 3 to 11 years to enjoy their summer holidays and improve their English or Spanish at the same time. All the activities will be led by native English and Spanish teachers from our school, and supplemented with professionals from a variety of specialist areas such as Dance, Drama, Art and Sports.
Children will make and develop new friends in a diverse international environment, and learn in an informal and relaxed atmosphere where their development and well-being is the focus.
All programmes are open to BSB students and pupils from other schools.
The British School of Barcelona also offer a childcare (‘guarderia’) service for parents requiring an early drop off at 8 am (additional payment required).
In our international school in Barcelona we offer two different programmes depending on the child’s age (click the tab to display contents):
This BSB School programme is aimed at children aged 3 to 5 to learn English and/or Spanish in a fun, progressive and engaging way.
It is a high-quality programme for all children to work in an international atmosphere and experience lots of fantastic activities which will keep them amused while learning during the hot summer days, through a themed focus for each week.
All The British School teachers are mixture of native English and Spanish speakers and the monitors are always registered teachers and monitors with a variety of international backgrounds, all with high quality experience.
It is great for our BSB children to continue to listen and work in a different language during the long summer break and to mix with children from the local area, to meet, collaborate, and make new friends. As part of the daily schedule, they will learn lots of new songs and vocabulary through drama and role playing.
They will all participate in a varied and structured Multi-Skills physical literacy activity programme that focuses on developing the Fundamentals of movement; Agility, Balance and Coordination.
Children can also enjoy a daily swimming session at Club Natació Sitges for those staying from 3 pm to 5 pm.
Each day the children will follow a routine which will help reinforce linguistic commands and phrases. At the BSB School, Health and Safety is naturally our main concerns and again the children will learn about and develop their basic hygiene, classroom rules and following instruction cooperatively, in a fun way for example through repetition, reading development, singing and craft.
At the end of each week all children will have the opportunity to perform to parents in a little show to demonstrate some of the exciting work they have been involved in!
The aim of The British School of Barcelona Summer Activity Programme is to encourage children to continue improving their language and communication skills; through a variety of activities in a more relaxed and informal way during the summer.
The BSB School programme is focused on the all-round development of children aged 6 to 11 to learn English and/or Spanish in an enjoyable atmosphere, where fun and communication is placed as high as performance and development.
Children will participate in a varied programme of activities led by our skilled teachers and monitors in English and Spanish (as required), in four specific areas:
