📚 From the classroom to Carrer Bonaire: bringing Oh, the Places You`ll Go! to life through flowers.

🌸 This weekend, the BSB Sitges community proudly returned to Carrer Bonaire to take part in the beautiful tradition of Corpus Sitges 2026 with our very own catifa floral.

✨ Measuring 15.5m x 2m, our catifa was designed by one of our talented students and inspired by the Dr. Seuss book Oh, the Places You`ll Go!, which our pupils studied at the beginning of the school year. The design celebrated imagination, journeys, and the many paths that connect us as a community.

💐 From the early hours of Sunday morning, BSB students, families, staff, and members of the wider community came together for a full day of preparation, transforming flowers into a stunning work of art. It was wonderful to see so many volunteers helping to bring this special project to life and keeping this cherished local tradition alive.

🤝 Participating in Corpus is one of the many ways we strengthen our connection with the Sitges community while celebrating Catalan culture and traditions together.

💛 Thank you to everyone who helped create our catifa, as well as those who stopped by to admire it throughout the day. This project was a wonderful celebration of creativity, collaboration, and community spirit, showing what can be achieved when we work together towards a shared vision.

🌱 Awarded by Optimus Education in partnership with the National Children’s Bureau, this recognition reflects our commitment to placing wellbeing at the heart of school life.

💬 Carol Coleman, Director of Student Support, Child Protection and Wellbeing Coordinator, said: "The re-assessment process gave us a valuable opportunity to reflect on our practice, celebrate the many thoughtful and proactive initiatives in place and recognising the impact of our work across the school, while identifying ways to continue strengthening the support and care we provide to our school community."

⚽ What a weekend!

We were proud to host and sponsor the first-ever Castelldefels International Kup 2026 (@ci_kup) at the BSB Sports Stadium, welcoming 30 U8 teams from across Spain, France and Portugal.

💙 A special highlight was watching our own BSB Pre Benjamí team take on some of Europe`s leading academies. Despite a tough draw, they showed incredible resilience, secured a fantastic 3–2 win against Sporting Gavà FC and reached the Silver B quarter-finals.

🌍 The international experience extended beyond the pitch. Our Year 12 BSB Nexus French students accompanied the Paris Saint-Germain delegation, putting their language skills into practice while connecting with players and staff from one of Europe`s top clubs.

🏆 Thank you to all the players, coaches, families and supporters who made this inaugural tournament such a success. Here`s to many more editions of CIKUP!

🎓 From the heart of Barcelona, BSB City graduates are ready for the world.

Last week, we proudly celebrated the graduation of the BSB City Class of 2026, our second IB cohort and the first group of students to complete the full two-year IBDP at our Barcelona campus.

✨ More than a farewell, this was a celebration of resilience, growth, friendship, and achievement. Over the years, our students have developed not only academic excellence, but also the confidence, compassion, adaptability, and global outlook to thrive in a rapidly evolving world.

🎶 The ceremony included musical performances by our students and addresses from Jake Richardson (Head of Secondary and Pre-University at BSB City), the Year 13 Tutors, Maria Anguera (IB Coordinator at BSB City), and Neil Tetley (BSB Executive Principal).

💬 One of the most memorable moments came from two of our graduates, whose speech reflected on the friendships, experiences, and challenges they shared, while expressing gratitude to the teachers who supported and encouraged them throughout their IBDP journey.

📖 Following the ceremony, students, families, and teachers gathered to celebrate and sign yearbooks. A project they had worked on throughout the year, the yearbooks became keepsakes filled with memories, messages, and reflections on their time at BSB.

🌍 As they head to universities across the Netherlands, Germany, the UK, Spain, China, Italy, and Switzerland, our graduates will take with them lifelong friendships, unforgettable memories, and a little piece of Barcelona. Wherever life takes them, they will always be part of the BSB City family. Our doors will always be open—although, as one tutor joked, for those staying in Barcelona, a visit back to school once a term is more than enough! 😉

🔬 Our Science Fair winners were back in the lab today!

🏆 As part of their prize from their winning science project in March, our Primary and Secondary winners enjoyed a special workshop in the BSB STEAM Centre with our specialist team.

🧬 Using prepared garlic root tips and laboratory equipment, students observed cells under a microscope, identifying the different stages of mitosis as cells divided to form new cells for growth. They also calculated the mitotic index to measure the proportion of cells actively dividing.

🔎 The students were especially excited to use the same specialist equipment and materials used by our A Level students, giving them a real taste of advanced laboratory work.

🏫 The BSB STEAM Centre is a specialist learning building used by students from both BSB Castelldefels and BSB Nexus, giving them access to purpose-built laboratories and hands-on learning experiences across Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths.

👏 A brilliant opportunity to get hands-on with real science and experience working in a professional environment. Well done to all our winners and thank you to our STEAM department for preparing such a special reward for our young scientists!
