🌟 We are proud to share that BSB City, Barcelona has been recognised as a Top 10 European Small Cohort IB School by Education Advisers Limited!

🏆 We are also ranked Top 1 Small Cohort IB School in Catalonia, Top 3 in Spain, and 37th in the Global Small Cohort Ranking – an incredible milestone for our first graduating BSB City IB Diploma cohort.

📈 Our students achieved a 34.4 average score - nearly 4 points above the global average. Even more: 2 students scored 43 points, and over 50% achieved above 38 points.

📍 Our Year 6 students from BSB City and BSB Sitges took their learning beyond the classroom with a walking tour through the historic centre of Barcelona, guided by our Assistant Executive Principal, James Petrie.

🏛️ As part of their inquiry curriculum into the Spanish Civil War, pupils visited key historical sites in Barcelona such as L’Estació de França, El Mercat del Born, Plaça de Sant Felip Neri, and the iconic Refugi 307—one of the city’s best-preserved air-raid shelters.

🕊️ Throughout the day, students explored how the war shaped Barcelona, how it affected everyday people, and how global influences and the arts contributed to this pivotal moment in history.

🔍 This experience brings depth and real-world context to their classroom questions: What caused the Spanish Civil War? How did it impact people’s lives? What can we learn from the conflict?

✨ This trip connects pupils to the local history and community, giving them the opportunity to discover the city of Barcelona with new perspectives.

🌈Expanding our 7 Steps Programme!

After a year in BSB Castelldefels, the Rainbow Corner has now arrived at the playgrounds in BSB Sitges and BSB City campuses!

💬 As Part of the 7 Steps programme, the Rainbow Corner gives pupils a dedicated space to sit, think and talk using the programme’s critical-thinking questions to help them approach challenges in a positive, constructive way.

🤲 Students can use it independently with the visual prompts and resources available, or with the support of our 7 Steps Leaders - staff and Pre-University students who help guide younger pupils toward better solutions.

💛 With its bright, eye-catching colours and simple bench design, it also serves as a visual reminder across the playground, prompting reflection even from afar.

💙 One of the pillars in our BSB School Development Plan 2025–28 is Emotional Intelligence, and this week we’re proud to see this vision come to life across our campuses.

🎉 What a busy month it has been! Across our campuses and year groups, students have been taking their learning beyond the classroom and turning lessons into hands-on adventures.

🏛️ Year 4 in BSB City visited Roman Barcino to immerse themselves in Ancient Rome, understanding its influence on the Barcelona history and culture.

🎢 Year 12 from BSB Nexus practiced Catalan in Port Aventura while gathering material for their term projects. Interviews and observations helped them explore tourism from different perspectives, linking language learning with cultural understanding.

🗺️ Year 4 from BSB Sitges visited Catalunya en Miniatura. This visit allowed students to study Catalunya’s physical and human geography in an interactive way. They also took part in a robotics workshop.

🏺 And finally, Year 5 from BSB Castelldefels went to the Archaeological Museum in Barcelona. Linked to their Ancient Greece studies, students discovered architectural ingenuity at the Greek amphitheatre on Montjuïc, learning about acoustics and design used thousands of years ago.
