🚀 The BSB Futures Week has wrapped up, and our Year 11 and Pre-University students made the most of every moment.
 Here’s what went down:

✨ A further glimpse of our BSB Maresme Opening Event!
 
🏫 Last week, we celebrated the official inauguration of BSB Maresme, a milestone for a school that, not so long ago, existed only as an idea and a vision of what the future of education could look like. Today, that vision is becoming a reality: a place where nature, connection and possibility come together to create inspiring learning experiences and help every student thrive.
 
🔬 A heartfelt thank you to our Cognita colleagues, partners and local businesses for joining us on this special occasion. Our guests had the opportunity to explore the new campus, meet our pupils and teachers, and see learning in action. From classrooms and science labs, ready to welcome Secondary students in September 2027, to music rooms, the Design Hub and our indoor and outdoor facilities, there was so much to discover! Guests also got a first look at the model of our planned Phase II expansion.
 
🤝As Andrew Marshall, Early Years & Primary BSB Maresme Headteacher, shared: “Now, as we celebrate this milestone, our attention turns to the future, to the magic that happens inside these walls every day. The learning, the questions, the creativity, the challenges overcome, the confidence developed and the opportunities that will enable our students to thrive. The buildings are ready. Our community is growing. And the real magic is only just beginning.”

🎉Today we celebrated the Opening Event of our newest campus BSB Maresme.  This is our fourth BSB campus, welcoming Cabrera de Mar into our community alongside Castelldefels, Sitges, and Barcelona.
 
We were delighted to welcome Òscar Fernández, Mayor of Cabrera de Mar, together with representatives from the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Diputació de Barcelona, the British Consulate General in Barcelona, as well as the Cognita Leadership team and members of our school community.
 
This special day featured emotional student performances, inspiring speeches, an official ribbon-cutting ceremony with Cognita Group CEO David Baldwin, and campus tours, culminating in a networking reception and toast.
 
🫶 We were also so happy to welcome back our BSB alumna Andrea Flores, who graduated in 2020. Seeing someone who grew up in our community return to celebrate the opening of a new campus meant so much. 
 
Some facts about our school:
✨ 120+ Infant and Primary students have already started the year 
✨ 16,500 m² designed for learning and wellbeing 
✨ Sustainable materials and 80 solar panels 
✨ Expanding to Secondary in September 2027
 
As Neil Tetley, our Executive Principal, said: “facilities matter, but what truly sets a school apart is its people. We can’t wait to see our BSB Maresme team make this a very special place for our students”.

🍂 We’re fully into the autumn term, and our students have been making the most of the season by getting out of the classroom and exploring! 

🏔️Last Tuesday, our Year 11 students from BSB Castelldefels visited Montserrat Abbey, one of Catalunya’s most iconic landmarks. Taking the cable car up to the Sant Joan viewpoint, they set off on a 2-hour walk through the mountains, passing chapels and stunning viewpoints along the way, guided by the experts from WildCatalunya.

🍁 History, art, nature and Catalan heritage, all in the best classroom possible, with a very autumny day to match!

💙 At BSB, we focus on making the most of places like Montserrat, right on our doorstep. Connecting with local culture, enjoying some outdoor fun and sharing bonding moments with classmates.
