Apply for a place
When you're ready to take the next step, follow the instructions our Admissions Officers will send you that includes the online application form, your child’s most recent school reports, passports/ID and references (where applicable). This will enable us to start our admissions process to ensure that we can meet your child's needs.
Assessment and Interview
Following application and depending on your child’s age, we will either invite you and your child to an informal assessment or to an interview to assess their level of English according to the year group that you are applying for. They will also have an interview with the Headteacher.
Offer of place
After successfully completing the assessment and/or interview, and subject to availability, we will make a time-limited formal offer of a place for your child to join our school.
If no places are available for your desired entry date, your child will be placed on our waiting list. We will then notify you when a place becomes available.
If you accept the offer, you will then be requested to complete the School Admissions Booklet, submit all the supporting admissions documentation and pay the matriculation fee in order to secure your child’s admission.
Start at BSB
From the moment you and your child arrive at BSB we will ensure that you enjoy a smooth process and a positive experience and soon feel part of the BSB Community.
Children applying for Pre-Nursery (at BSB Sitges only), Nursery and Reception places are not required to have any prior knowledge of English.
Pupils applying for places at Year 1 must have an age-appropriate level of spoken English.
Pupils applying for places in Year 2 and above at BSB School must have an age-appropriate level of spoken and written English. They will be required to sit an English language assessment. They must also have an age-appropriate understanding of numeracy. Previous school reports and a reference will also be requested. A meeting between the Head or Deputy Head of Primary and the pupil will be arranged.
Students applying for places in the Secondary department (Years 7-11) must have an age-appropriate level of spoken and written English. They will be required to sit an assessment of English language and Maths. An academic school reference and the most recent school reports must be submitted. A meeting between the Head of Secondary and the pupil will be arranged.
Pre-University candidates (Years 12-13) will be required to provide evidence they have achieved 5 A*-C (9-4) GCSE’s, or their equivalent, in their previous school. Candidates will also be required to present past school reports and an academic school reference.
Candidates will sit an English language assessment designed to assess if they have a level of English that will allow them to participate in the Pre-University curriculum. Beyond this, candidates may be asked to sit exams specific to the subject areas they wish to study, depending on each candidate’s individual application. These exams will be appropriate to the candidate’s year group.
