Following the recent participation of over 50 students from Years 9 to 11 across BSB Castelldefels and BSB City campuses in the UKMT Intermediate Challenge, we are delighted to share that a total of 10 students have been awarded Gold certificates.

What adds to the brilliance of this accomplishment is the outstanding performance of one of our Year 5 students at BSB City. This young talent not only embraced the challenge at such an advanced level for her age but also secured a Gold certificate.

Furthermore, this young student and four other Secondary students have qualified for the Cayley Olympiad 2024 on 21st March, a 2-hour Challenge consisting of six Olympiad-style problems, where entry is by invitation based on a qualifying IMC score or discretionary entry. Approximately 1,800 students qualify from the IMC annually, making this achievement even more exceptional.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the students participating in the Challenge, who have demonstrated their mathematical prowess. This is a testament to their exceptional mathematical skills and committed dedication.

A special thank you goes out to our dedicated teaching staff for consistently motivating and pushing our students to reach their fullest potential.

The impact of initiatives like this is immeasurable. It goes beyond competition; it’s about fostering mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency while promoting essential Learning Habits like Thinking, Attention, and Determination.

As we celebrate the success of our students, we acknowledge the broader impact these competitions have on approximately 700,000 young minds each year. It’s a testament to the power of education and the potential within every student to excel.
