Celebrating the Class of 2026
We are proud to celebrate the achievements of the Class of 2026 at The British School of Barcelona, marking a significant milestone for students across BSB City and BSB Nexus. This past school year, we said farewell to 163 graduates, including the second cohort from BSB City’s International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) and BSB Nexus students who completed either the IBDP or A Levels.
While graduation marked the end of their BSB journey, it was also the beginning of an exciting new chapter. Their years at school have equipped them with far more than academic knowledge: they leave with confidence, resilience, curiosity, character and the growth mindset needed to embrace the opportunities ahead.
Another Year of Outstanding Academic Achievement
The Summer 2026 examination results have once again demonstrated the dedication and determination of our students, supported by the expertise and commitment of our staff and the encouragement of their families.
Across the IBDP, A Levels and iGCSE, BSB students achieved excellent results, with outcomes continuing to sit comfortably above international averages.
Our IBDP students achieved an average score of 34.5 points, compared with a global average of 30.88.
- 99% pass rate
- Fifteen students achieved 40 points or more
- One student achieved a perfect score of 45 points
Our A Level students also achieved excellent outcomes:
- 100% pass rate
- 44% of all grades awarded were A or A*
- 25% of students achieved three A grades or better
Our iGCSE students achieved equally impressive results, with:
- 22% of all grades awarded at Grade 9, the highest possible grade
- 53% of grades awarded at Grades 7–9
From BSB to the World
The Class of 2026 is now heading to universities across thirteen countries and territories, with 149 graduates progressing directly to university.
Spain remains the most popular destination, with 55% of graduates staying in the country, while 21% are heading to the UK, with 71% of these students progressing to Russell Group universities. A further 10% are continuing their studies in the Netherlands, with others heading to destinations across Europe and beyond, including Canada, Hong Kong and the USA.
Among this year’s graduates, twenty-two students have secured places at universities ranked in the global Top 100 of the QS World University Rankings 2026, with thirty-one progressing to universities within the global Top 200.
The Class of 2026 will also pursue a diverse range of subjects, with 42% progressing to STEM, engineering, medicine, health and life sciences, and 34% to business, management and economics.
Looking Ahead
Celebrating the Class of 2026, our Executive Principal, Neil Tetley, said it had been ‘a privilege to see so many students achieve such great results’ and to watch them step into their next chapter ‘with confidence and excitement for what lies ahead’.
As they begin this next chapter, our graduates also become part of the growing BSB Alumni community. With Holly Daniels, our new BSB Alumni & Careers Coordinator, supporting this community, we look forward to keeping our graduates connected to BSB and to each other as their journeys continue.
Warmest congratulations to the Class of 2026: we look forward to seeing where your journeys take you!
