BSB Regarded as One of the Best Schools in Spain

We feel utterly proud to announce that we have been included in several lists of Best Schools and Best International Schools in Spain. Clearly our BSO accreditation as ‘Outstanding in every Category’ hasn’t gone unnoticed!

Forbes Magazine

For the third year in a row, the prestigious Forbes España magazine has included The British School of Barcelona in their 2023 list of the Best 100 Schools in Spain. This exclusive list has been created by a committee of expert educators, psychologists and education professionals selected by this respected magazine, who have evaluated hundreds of schools based on 36 objective criteria dissected into seven blocks. The score has taken into account factors such as student support, academic results, educational offer, cocurricular activities, facilities, student’s safety and wellbeing, among others.

‘With 65 years of experience in providing a British international education, over 1,700 students of 68 nationalities, from three to eighteen years old, pass through its classrooms. In October 2021, it was rated “Outstanding in all categories” following an inspection by the UK government’s Department for Education, making it one of only five schools in Spain with this rating and the only one in Catalonia with this distinction. The British School of Barcelona is committed to using the latest learning platforms and software to teach and train students in the correct use of technology. It also offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities, including tennis courts and a 9,000m2 rugby/football stadium. It also offers an educational experience beyond the academic curriculum. In February 2022, they were awarded the Wellbeing Award for Schools, which formally recognises schools that make a significant contribution to promoting emotional wellbeing and mental health in their school community.’

El Mundo

For another year in a row, The British School of Barcelona has been listed among The Best International Schools in Spain by the prestigious national newspaper El Mundo.

El Mundo has just published the twenty-fourth edition of the list of the Best Schools in Spain. This ranking of schools is a benchmark in the Spanish educational sector as well as a perfect guide for families with school-age children. This list includes a selection of schools divided into three categories: the 100 best schools, notable schools, and international schools. BSB is included as one of the 30 best international schools in Spain and is one of the only four best international schools in Catalonia.

The newspaper analyses each school based on a comprehensive report of 27 criteria. As a result, The British School of Barcelona stands out in terms of its high-performing educational model, second-to-none careers guidance, outstanding inspection reports and accreditations (such as the BSO inspection and the Wellbeing Award for Schools), provision of learning support, ICT and Science resources and excellent facilities.

Micole

We have also been included in the 1st edition of the 100 Best Schools in Spain published by online schools search platform Micole, which is based on the trust of prospective families. The score is calculated by analysing the interest of families in the school, the number of views and requests for visits, open days and school information, as well as the positive family reviews.
