The British School of Barcelona is expanding with a brand-new campus in Cabrera de Mar, in the Maresme region, in September 2026. This marks a significant step forward in our mission to bring our model of outstanding international education to more families across Catalonia.

Our future BSB Maresme campus will initially welcome Early Years and Primary students up to age 9, with Secondary opening in 2027. Once fully developed, the campus will accommodate around 700 pupils ranging from ages 3 to 18.

These additions consolidate BSB’s status as one of the leading international schools in Spain, where we integrate a recognised British curriculum with an International Baccalaureate framework in the pre-university years, equipping students to thrive in a rapidly evolving world.

Designed to Foster Innovation, Wellbeing, and Sustainability
BSB Maresme will be a purpose-built learning environment. Spanning 16,500 m², the campus will offer state-of-the-art facilities, including science labs, art and music rooms, and extensive outdoor and sports spaces. These will include an indoor gym with retractable seating, adaptable for assemblies and concerts, and a 14,000 m² outdoor sports pitch with spectator seating.

The site has been thoughtfully designed to blend with its coastal surroundings while supporting both academic and personal development. Sustainability is at the heart of the project, with green roofs, natural low-carbon materials, and rainwater collection systems incorporated into the design.

Additionally, the campus will feature a photovoltaic solar installation with 80 panels, generating renewable energy for the school’s self-consumption.

The new BSB Maresme campus brings our education to a location that combines natural surroundings with strong transport links and proximity to the city. Located just 30 minutes north of Barcelona, Cabrera de Mar is a coastal town, between the hills and the Mediterranean Sea. Part of the Maresme region, it offers a peaceful environment surrounded by nature, with easy access to the beach, mountains, and outdoor activities. The area is known for its healthy lifestyle, good weather, and welcoming community – an ideal place for children to grow, learn, and enjoy a balanced daily life.

With our campuses already thriving in Barcelona, Castelldefels, and Sitges, the new BSB Maresme campus represents an exciting new chapter in the BSB story, and we are proud to share this journey with our growing BSB community.
