Over forty universities from all over the world will meet at the next edition of the SRT International University Fair, scheduled for Wednesday, 29th November at the BSB Nexus Pre-University campus of The British School of Barcelona.

The Fair, organised by SRT Fairs, a company with fourteen years of experience in organising university events, aims to provide students and families, both from BSB and the general public, with a unique opportunity to explore academic options and chart a path to a successful university future. Universities from Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Italy, Mexico, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the United States will provide first-hand information on study programmes, admissions processes, financial aid options and campus life. Attendees will be able to participate in one-to-one discussions and get practical advice. See participating universities here.

At BSB, we are aware that choosing the right university and career is a life goal that requires time and dedication. Consequently, the SRT International University Fair takes on a special significance by providing a global overview of the range of options, bringing universities from all over the world closer to students. Luiza Pires de Oliveira, our University and Career Advisor at BSB Nexus, emphasises the importance of this event as a guide, not only for students who have not yet made up their minds, but also for those who have a clear idea of what they want to study, but are looking to define where they will study. ‘In a sector where there is a generous supply of quality courses on offer both in Spain and abroad, it is crucial to provide students with a broad and up-to-date perspective on future opportunities and help reduce complexity. Information must be accurate, from reliable sources and centralised in a secure environment, backed up by specialised and accredited staff. In this sense, the International University Fair, sponsored by renowned organisations in the education sector, is of exceptional value,’ she explains.

University Planning: the Sooner, the Better
At BSB, the road to university begins long before the end of the Pre-University stage. That’s why we start our university guidance programme in the final years of Secondary school and extend it throughout the entire Pre-University stage. Our BSB Nexus team is made up of experts in academic guidance, who work closely with each student and their families, designing personalised strategies that align with their goals and aspirations. ‘This personalised approach is key to providing valuable support in academic and career decision-making,’ explains Luiza. ‘This is why it is important to have an in-house counselling and mentoring programme, as it is the teachers and counsellors who best understand the individual strengths and aspirations of each of our students,’ she emphasises.

This programme includes connecting our students with experts, professionals, alumni, and webinars with admissions teams from institutions around the world, all in order to design an educational strategy that aligns with their personal goals and potential. ‘At BSB, we firmly believe that the earlier we begin this process, the better prepared our students will be to confidently face the decision-making process at this point in their educational and career planning.’

Internationalised Studies: a Proven Path to Success
The International University Fair, with representation from twelve countries, shows that the trend of studying abroad is on the rise. ‘The experience of living and studying in another country is not only academically enriching, but also allows you to cultivate a global perspective that enhances your professional future,’ explains Luiza. In 2023, 66% of our BSB Nexus students gained places at universities in Europe and the United States, and 34% chose to study at universities across Spain.

The next edition of the International University Fair, which will take place on Wednesday, 29th November at the BSB Nexus Pre-University campus in Castelldefels, will be a space for sharing ideas, knowledge and experiences. It will be open to the general public from 12.30 h to 13.30 h and from 14.30 h to 15.30 h. Admission is free, but prior registration is required at this link.
