School Lunch and Balanced Diet
At The British School of Barcelona we are proud to provide good value wholesome meals to ensure students have a healthy, balanced diet and get the energy and nutrition they need across the whole school day. Every month a registered dietician plans the school menus using seasonal, fresh, sustainable and locally-sourced ingredients, such as organic vegetables and free range poultry.
Both BSB Sitges and BSB Castelldefels campuses have their own kitchen, where school hot meals and afternoon snacks are prepared by qualified staff from Ausolan, a company founded in 1969 specializing in the management of catering services, especially for large communities and schools. With a clear commitment to healthy and sustainable eating, Ausolan’s expert nutritionists plan our monthly menus in an attractive way, based on the main criteria that the menus must be nutritionally and dietetically balanced, varied and adjusted to the needs and tastes of the students.
At BSB City, the company providing the catering service is Saned, with an experience of more than 20 years in catering services for schools. Saned’s gastronomic proposal is based on the elaboration of attractive, healthy, nutritionally balanced menus, based on the quality and origin of the ingredients.
BSB Nexus, our Pre-University campus, has a cafeteria where students can buy on-site prepared healthy snacks and lunches.
Diverse eating preferences
We cater for the wide variety of dietary requirements of our international community of students. We offer a range of different meat menus (whether specifically no beef or no pork), a pescatarian menu and also vegan/vegetarian menus.
Food allergies and intolerances
Food allergies or intolerances are taken seriously. BSB School works very closely with parents to ensure we provide the correct and balanced diet for children with food allergies or intolerances, as we believe that it is important that these children enjoy eating school food with their classmates. Children with food allergies or intolerances are provided with individualised monthly menus.
