The British School of Barcelona will sponsor and host the first-ever Castelldefels International Kup (CIKUP) from 29th to 31st May 2026 at the BSB Sports Stadium, reaffirming its commitment to supporting grassroots football and the development of young athletes.

The international U8 tournament will bring together 30 teams from across Europe, creating a unique environment where young players can compete, learn and build friendships through sport. More than just a football competition, the event reflects BSB’s vision of using sport as a platform for education, inclusion and international connection.

Through its support of CIKUP, BSB aims to contribute to the growth of youth football in Castelldefels and surrounding areas, offering young athletes the opportunity to experience an international tournament atmosphere at an early age while promoting values such as teamwork, respect and personal development.

BSB Proud to Take Part
BSB is especially proud that our own Pre-Benjamí players will be participating in this exciting first edition of the tournament. Competing against some of Europe’s most recognised youth academies will provide our young players with an unforgettable sporting and personal experience.

The tournament represents a fantastic opportunity for players to experience international competition while developing teamwork, confidence and communication skills in a positive sporting environment.

Clubs from Across Europe
CIKUP 2026 will feature an outstanding line-up of football clubs. Among the confirmed teams are FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, València CF, Real Betis, RCD Espanyol, Girona FC, Levante UD and Sporting de Braga.

The tournament will also showcase the strength of football in Catalonia, with local clubs including UE Castelldefels, Junior FC, Gimnàstic Manresa, UE Rubí, Sporting Gavà FC, Vilassar de Mar, Escola Futbol Gavà and AE Prat taking part.

A Perfect Venue for Grassroots Football
The BSB Sports Field facilities are specially prepared to host large youth sporting events, with multiple pitches and spectator areas allowing families and supporters to enjoy matches throughout the weekend.

Adjacent to our BSB Castelldefels campus, the 9 000 m² rugby and football stadium is widely used by BSB students for PE lessons, after-school activities and the school’s enriched sports programme. The pitch is also marked out for both 7-a-side and 11-a-side football matches.

Located just minutes from the beach and close to Barcelona, Castelldefels has become an important destination for international youth tournaments thanks to its outstanding sports infrastructure, Mediterranean setting and strong connection to sport and community life.

More Than Just Competition
At BSB, sport plays a central role in promoting a healthy lifestyle and developing values such as commitment, resilience, discipline, teamwork, leadership, respect, perseverance and dedication. These values are fundamental both inside and outside the classroom.

The tournament also offers players the chance to enjoy experiences beyond their regular local leagues while sharing their passion for football with children from different countries and cultures.
