🗣️As part of our Enrichment Programme, we recently launched this year’s Language Assistants programme. Entitled ‘Sharing to Learn’, this is an opportunity for our students to volunteer as English assistants at our neighbouring schools Edumar and Garigot in Castelldefels.

💡 By practising speaking, listening, and cultural nuances in English, children gain extra support that complements classroom learning, helping them grow in confidence, become more fluent, and ready for future global opportunities.

🌟Our Pre-University students have been taking part in this programme since 2012 and it’s rewarding to see how, year after year, they have valued their participation in this programme as a life-changing experience.

📚 The opening ceremony was led by Mr Mark Woodward, Head of Secondary and Pre-University, and Mr Ramón Rius Santamaría, teacher and coordinator of the programme at BSB. Thank you to our distinguished guests Mr Eduard Carbonell, inspector of education from the Generalitat de Catalunya, and Mr Toni Alberich, coordinator of foreign language programmes at ST Baix Llobregat, for joining us, alongside local school representatives.

🌟 Last week, Adrian Massen, Head of School Improvement at Cognita, visited all our BSB campuses, joining Headteachers on learning walks, speaking with student leaders, and seeing lessons in action.

📖 Here’s a glimpse of one of Adrian Massen’s visit at BSB Castelldefels, where he spent time with Judy Dean, Head of Early Years and Primary, in Nursery, exploring phonics lessons and discovering our little learners’ ‘All About Me’ books — a wonderful example of the curiosity and creativity that fills our classrooms every day.

This October, adventure and learning continue beyond the classroom with our BSB Half-Term Camps, running from Monday 27th to Friday 31st October at BSB Castelldefels and BSB City.

🎯 At BSB Castelldefels, open to BSB Castelldefels, BSB Sitges students and pupils from other schools you can join:
BSB Robotics & AI Camp (6–12 yrs, in English)
BSB Football Camp (5–12 yrs, in English – half-day or full-day options)
BSB Wevy Sports Camp (4–9 yrs, in Spanish)

🎨 At BSB City, open to BSB City students, you can join:
Barcino Sports Camp (6–12 yrs, in Spanish)
Kinobs Games Camp (3–9 yrs, in Spanish)

✨ A great way for our students to stay active, creative, and connected during the break!

🧸 Exploration is at the heart of early learning! Our youngest learners at BSB City enjoyed some time discovering textures, shapes, and colours through hands-on play and painting.

🎨 At BSB, we follow an inquiry-based learning approach that encourages children to think critically, ask questions, and persevere. These playful experiences also support communication, language, and social-emotional development, helping children grow in confidence and independence.

✨ Moments like these lay the foundation for a lifelong love of learning, fostering curiosity, creativity, and joy in discovering the world around them — all while having fun together.

🚁 Our Year 12 students took their learning beyond the classroom this week with an exciting pre-university experience!

🌐 At UPC, students explored Drone Technology, discovering how propeller speed and position affect lift and direction — directly linking to the forces they study in Physics.

💡 They then tested drones that recognise hand and body movements, before heading outdoors to fly a drone built by university students in the Drone Field.

✨ This visit gave students a real-world look at how Physics connects to Aerospace Engineering and emerging technologies, while developing key problem-solving and analytical skills for future STEM studies.
